Clarence Holmes was a Denver, Colo. based dentist, civic leader and civil rights activist. A graduate of Howard University, Washington, D.C., he was one of the founders of N.A.A.C.P. in Denver in 1915. He also organized the Denver Cosmopolitan Club and served on the Mayor's Commission on Human Relations, the Citizens Budget Committee, and the Citizens Health and Housing Commission. He died in Denver, Colo. in 1978. His wife, Fairfax Butler, was born in Chicago, Ill. in 1892. She was a graduate o...
